Data rarely comes in a nice, neat package ready for instant analysis. Most of the time it needs to be extracted from its source, whether that’s a point-of-sale terminal, website analytics, app metrics or something else. It will then likely need to be transferred into a format that can be understood and loaded into a system to be analyzed.
