The Point is a hip, high-tech corporate development space designed for teamwork. Owner Casey Fields launched the 3,000 square foot Mission Beach facility just over a month ago, in the hope of providing a “Google-like atmosphere” to dynamic teams across the country. The Point presents gorgeous views of the Bay, offers access to various watersports, and comes equipped with comfortable yet fashionable furniture. Visiting businesses also have access to display screens, custom wireless streaming, and of course high-speed Wi-Fi. HDTVs and Philips Hue lighting add a sparkling touch to what already seems like the perfect workspace.
“This differs from the current co-working space trend because it was designed for team-based corporate development,” explains Casey in a press release. “We want to provide an inspiring and environmentally diverse space that companies consider the go-to place for team bonding, team building, and team training. With our board room and flexible collaboration space steps away from Mission Bay, [The Point] makes for a seamless transition between indoor work and outdoor activities. We are designed to be whatever it is our corporate partners need to have a productive day away from the office.”
The Point offers a number of one-time-only packages and 3-month or yearly memberships. These packages (or “partnerships”) range in purpose, from “leadership education” (20 percent play, 80 percent productivity) to “corporate retreat” (80 percent play, 20 percent productivity). While customers are welcome to buy just a few hours in The Point’s conference room, corporate members enjoy access to priority booking and discounted rates. It’s up to the visiting team whether their visit involves work or play (or both).
